Every May East Kilbride Rep Theatre Club hosts an annual competition in which various amateur dramatics clubs from all over Scotland perform a short one act play.  Every play is adjudicated at the end of each night - publicly to the audience and privately to the cast and production team.  On the final night of the Festival trophies from six different categories are awarded.

The categories are: Best Staging (winner awarded The Betty McAuley Trophy) Best Actress (winner awarded The East Kilbride Rep Theatre Club Trophy) Best Actor (winner awarded The Alf Davidson Cup) 3rd place play (winner awarded The Whitemoss Trophy) 2nd place play (winner awarded The East Kilbride Arts Council Trophy) 1st place play (winner awarded The John McNicol Cup)
