Colourful characters from EK Rep Theatre Club's pantomime, Cinderella, joined South Lanarkshire's Provost Russell Clearie at the switch-on of the East Kilbride Village Christmas lights.

Cinders' ugly sisters, Beetrix (George Waite) and Ujeannie (Alfie Newton), braved the winter cold and rain on Saturday 3rd December to lend a hand at the switch-on hosted by Real Radio's Paul Harper.

The annual event included sing-a-long entertainment from High School Glee who performed pop songs and Christmas classics, plus a popular Christmas market selling plenty of stocking fillers for the big day.

Cinderella runs until Saturday 17th December in East Kilbride Village Theatre.
